Trillium – we call her Trilly – is one of the Farthing Stone Farm Five, the founding members of our little flock. She is the reigning alpha sheep and Queen of All She Surveys. Shetlands are known to be one of the smallest sheep breeds, but Trilly did not get that memo. She’s a big girl who produces an astonishing amount of luxurious white wool. She is also stunningly beautiful and knows it – has a huge head crowned with charming little ringlets and curls, and large, knowing eyes.
Trilly has a distinctively slow, rolling gait and a lovely, quiet confidence. As sovereign, she is generally tolerant and gentle with all “lesser” sheep, but does not always exhibit patience with the shenanigans of youngsters. She enjoys being petted by her servants (humans) as long as we focus exclusively on her wishes.
