Willow is one of Farthing Stone’s Founding Five. She is short, strong, compact and very smart. She is the color we call Shetland cream with a hint of apricot on her head. And the wool on her face is truly a miracle of softness. She is more the “thinking” leader of the flock. While Trilly leads by her imposing presence, Willow is observant, concerned about others, and cautious. She will let everyone know when it’s time to go out or return to the barn. We think of her as a proper little lady. Maybe it’s just the pronounced bone structure of her head, but she always looks a little worried. And she tends to bustle about and discipline the younger sheep for improper behavior. But when it’s time for the daily handful of grain, she loses all sense of decorum and paws the gate with such force that the sound reverberates around the barn like machine gun fire.
Willow
Farthing Stone Farm is a forever home for our sheep. Willow has been raised gently with love and respect, as have all our Shetlands. We cherish the uniqueness and beauty of each individual and would never do anything to harm them.
